Strategy Poll "please vote!"
Whew, it's OVER!
So now that your finished, you've had a chance to run it around. You more than likely have a little number in your head. That number I'm speaking of is how many tetras you think you can cap in 2 minutes under fire. Now, experience has taught me most people think they can do better than reality. When you start strategy sessions with other teams, I think this will be the first question (How many do you average "in a match"?). Once you mix in the effectiveness of other teams defensive capabilities, whatever's said regarding no contact practice goes out the window. Also can your drivers stay cool under pressure. Capping is not easy, and I don't think any machine is going to make it simple enough to do it blind folded. So all that said, I'm curious to see what's the average teams out there think they'll be able to cap under fire? So to me one important thing is good traction and power to push on through to where you want to cap while hanging on to the tetra. I think this will be a good poll to start basing a real world strategy for your team. So please if you read this, make a vote you're helping yourself! |

Re: Strategy Poll "please vote!"
I think that that all of these numbers a subject to +/- about 50% in actual matches, there are too many variables in competition and other robots to say 4-7 tetras consistently.

Re: Strategy Poll "please vote!"
We were not able to practice much as we only had the shop for area so it was 1 goal and 2 tetras for us. But with our design it does not take much accuracy to place the tetra on the goal. Just run into the side and hit the switch and watch simplicity at work. To simulate field conditions we sat on one side of the door way and had a 3.5 foot tall plasma cutter about 4 feet in front of the goal.
