How????

I just wanted to know if anybody knows how FIRST picks the divisions. Is it random? Is it done by ranking? Is it done by team #s? Perhaps even posting how its been done in the past would help cause I'm completly clueless as to how it's been done. Also, when do they usually announce the divisions? Thanks

They must have a method to their madness but it is fleeting to us teams as of yet. It certainly does not go like it does in most schools as to how they pick classmates. In my school I was always paired with the a-b-c-d-e last name people. In FIRST picking it is totally random. But I think one thing is certain, If you won a regional with a team they are not going to be in your division. It makes you pick someone else if you make it to the finals in FL. They don't want you o pick the same people you won with before, which makes sense!

From what I've heard, it is completely random to the point that super alliances will be impossible to form until the finals, and even then hard to do.
