Question about treads?
Hi
I am designing a mobile robot with tracks and I have a problem that I have not found a book where i can find a real calculations and theory about tracks/ treads. ( Is there a scientifical book containing theory about treads???) I would be very happy if anyone could recommend me a book or web site. Harry |

Re: Question about treads?
There are books out there that are about nothing more than robot drive trains, and they do touch on treads. If you have specific questions, I suggest you search the forum for previous discussions on the topic. Also, search the web for sites pertaining to robot design, and the use of treads. Check out McMasterCarr for parts such as reinforced timing belts, We have used double sided timing belts in the Past, and they have worked great. Feel free to PM me. I've had a lot of experience dealing with both tread and wheel implementations.
