Regional WFA, 2005.

A few people have asked if there was going to be a page showcasing the 2005 Regional WFA winners, similar to last years. The UFH committee will be adding this page to the UFH cycle sometime after the Championship event, in place of a UFH for one week. Stay tuned ...

By the way -- did your WFA nominee not win the regional WFA this year? Why not submit that same essay to the UFH committee, and see what happens?

Re: Regional WFA, 2005.

I was actually looking at the 2004 thread yesterday and was going to check with the appropriate people on team 116 to see if I could post the essay about Dave Lavery (which I am in the process of doing).

But I posted here, because another thread just started up with the same title as last years WFA inspiration thread: http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/sh...threadid=36669

So a moderator can choose which thread to leave open and which to close.

Re: Regional WFA, 2005.

The UFH recognition page is separate than that of the "Operation Inspiration" thread. The OI thread was created by Rich Kressley to have a single location for all the winning essays to be found to encourage and facilitate the writing of future entries (at least, that's how I see it, Rich: feel free to correct me). The only reason why my name's on the 05 thread is to set it up similar to the 2004 Off Season Competition thread for easier searching.

Where UFH is pulling the nomination links from, I don't know. I looked into the WFA 2004 page that Brandon listed above, and some come from team websites, some from regional-specific threads, and some from the OI '04 thread. I'm sure they'll be appropriating them somehow.

Tyler: For right now, if you get approval from 116, then please post a link to or the entry itself into the 2005 OI thread. The 2004 OI thread will stay open for any team who may have forgotten to post their entry last year.

Re: Regional WFA, 2005.

I have to manually add the links in the database. Whether it is in the Inspiration thread, or on other teams websites, it doesn't matter really ..

Re: Regional WFA, 2005.

To date, we have had six mentors honored with the UFH Award also receiving a regional WFA (one national, too!). This year alone, we have had four: Al Skierkiewicz, Mike Martus, Scott Ritchie, and Karthik Kanagasabapathy.

Just as Brandon said, if your mentor did not receive the regional WFA, send the essay in to UFH. You never know what could happen.
