Re: Robotic Help

What does it have to do? Can it run hardwired, does it need to be wireless, what type of electrical source do you plan to use? What are your constraints and criteria, theres other stuff out there then what is used in FIRST. If you can explain your project a little more, we probably can point you toward what you would want.

Re: Robotic Help

Alright. I know how im gonna buld it, but, it needs to be wireless, I'm probably gonna use a 12V source.

I need to make a remote controlled device, all it has to do is turn a pole that's in the ground. It can run hardwired. My contraints are money and i'd like to keep the size of it below 2 feet in any directions (X, Y, Z)
Really, all i can't get is the circut board stuff, and controller.

I'm obviously more of a fabricator, so please bear with me

Re: Robotic Help

I don't know what kind of other funtions it needs to have. But a remote controller and servos for an R/C type car maybe all you need. You can get a very decent one for less than $100 at a hobby shop. Most of these feature 2 things you can control, but others (for airplanes) can be up to 8 channels. (more pricey, but still cheaper than a FIRST controller).

Re: Robotic Help

i got a great place for general electronics. http://www.allelectronics.com/ also as for a controller look at gumstix http://www.gumstix.com/ or if thats to expensive you might want to just do a parralex basic stamp.
