[OCCRA]: Sewing machine?
Because sheet fabric is on the list, and our team is considering using some of this on our robot, we were wondering if we are allowed to use a standard sewing machine to attach the fabric to itself. I know this tool is not on the list of approved tools, but someone from our team remembered that two years ago many teams used one and suggested asking. Thanks.

Re: [OCCRA]: Sewing machine? Answer
Quote:
You are correct, two years ago we allowed the use of a sewing machine as the sewing machine was common to all teams and was very usable by a student. Remember - students do all the work with only 1 exception - the use of a power saw to cut a sheet of plywood which the students measured and marked. A sewing machine should be on the list of approved tools. You the student may use it, an adult cannot sew for you. |
