Rotary Encoder Collars
Upon skimming through the Mechanical Engineering magazine I got in the mail today, I found these:
 I think they would be great for use inside a transmission or outside on wheel axles. http://www.staffordmfg.com/pages/rotary_stock.htm http://www.staffordmfg.com/pdfs/rotary_endcoder.pdf Would a Hall Effect Sensor work, similar to the ones we got in the KOP? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hall_ef...tation_sensing If not, what kind of electromagnetic sensor will work? |

Yes. A hall effect sensor is what these are designed to be used with.
