Just a note to all those who took 3rd at their regional events, apparently FIRST is going to send you your 3rd place medals, our team heard this somewhere, and I gave FIRST a call yesterday and they did confirm this, I don't know if anyone else knew this, but its good to hear.

Three Questions

What color would the medals be, since we all get bronze anyway

How do they determine who took third since there is two alinaces that both lost in the semi's but never face each other to determine third.

And does it count for third Place in your divison?

I think he means regional third placers.

What does everyone think about the idea of having a "Bronze Medal" round (ala the Hockey tournament in the Winter Olympics) for Regional and Championship Event elims? This round would take place before the "Gold Medal" matches. Not only would this determine a clear third place victor (maybe the Bronze medal could even count as one point toward accumulating the five points needed to qualify for the Championship Event), it would also give the top two alliances extra time to cool off and prepare for the final showdown.

I like it. That would be great to have a "bronze medal" round. I know I'd enjoy playing in it, and if I was one of the finalists, I'd enjoy the break while the bronze round ran.

Less dissapointing to the team that just lost to the eventual regional winner.

I'm not sure on the colors or determination of 3rd Place, I might be giving them a call back on that one though. We are a clear 3rd place I believe because we took our semi-final to 3 matches, where the other allliance lost in 2,but I think a 3rd Place elimination would be a great idea, another thing to consider.

No, that wouldn't really determine anything...

If they do give only 1 alliance the 3rd place, logic dictates that it would be the alliance that lost to the [eventual] regional winners...

But... we'll have to see if they give just 1 or both alliances the 3rd place...
