MAX software not working

I have installed the LabVIEW software and drivers and also have CMUcam2. When i open Measurement and Automation Explorer, the only options in the tree are "My System" and "Remote Systems". Under My System i click on the devices and interfaces category but there are no COM ports or anything. I have reinstalled everything 3 times and yes i have my serial-USB adapter plugged in while opening it. Everything works fine on a teammates computer. Please help!

Sounds like you haven't installed NI VISA. Install the latest version, reboot, and try MAX again. Your serial ports will then show up and your CMUcam2 will work in LabView.

Wow thank you. Isnt it a bit odd that when a teammate followed the exact same steps i did, it worked for him but not me... oh well. Problem solved.
