Go to Post I don't think that FIRST is going to get better with a top down solution alone, it is going to take a grass roots effort to strengthen teams. That starts by teams getting off their "islands", self imposed or otherwise. - Fe_Will [more]

Exclamation Need feedback device

Our robot canon is amazing but we are having difficulty finding a suitable device to send the coordinates back to the frc controller to tell what the canon is pointed at, any solutions?

Potentiometers, I say are best because you dont have to worry about starting the RC when the turret is in the wrong place and it thinking that this is the center point.

Pots are very sutiable for this work. For angle measurements, you can even gear it to increase it's resolution. This would help with a tilt type sensor.

One thing I was surprised about was that this year's code didn't grab the servo values from the CMUcam. Apparently, it makes the assumption that the servos are connected to the RC.

To change that, you're going to want to look at the CMUcam2 user's guide and the code, specifically the SM command.

This is the second thread you made today on the exact same topic, with the same opening post.
