Spur Gear Rod?

Does any one know where to buy 14.5 degree pressure angle, 16P. I am looking for a gear that has 1.75" face.

I will greatly appreciate if someones directs me to right place.

Thanks.

You may be out of luck on the face width, without custom ordering a gear, or buying spur gear stock and cutting it to the correct length.

I don't mind buying stock gear in a big length and cutting it to size. Actually that would be better, but I have searched all three of those websites and the only gear stock found is in macmaster and is all 20* Pressure Angle. I have Google it and everything, w/o luck so if someone knows a place it would save my team a lot of time and maybe some money.

Thanks.

Re: Spur Gear Rod?

Stock Drive does carry spur gear stock as well, and even in 14.5* pressure angle. However, they do not carry 16 pitch.

Re: Spur Gear Rod?

Wow, I was checking up on some gear stuff for my own team and decided to look around a bit. I checked all the sites that Cory listed, McMaster had the 20pa stuff like David said he had, sdp-si had some other stuff too. I looked around at Boston Gear and Martin Sprocket & Gear, they came up fairly blank too. WM Berg makes 20pa of assorted pitches.

If you find this stuff, i'm guessing it's gonna run you quite a price. You may want to start looking at some other solutions here (maybe 3, .5" face gears all lined up?) It's risky, but it's not looking good.

Re: Spur Gear Rod?

What exactly are you doing that you need 16 pitch for?

Do you even need to use 16, or can you adapt it to something more normal, such as 20?

Re: Spur Gear Rod?

Well I think I am going to have to change a stage of the gearbox to 20* pa and just get it from mcmaster. Thanks everyone for trying to help.

This thread can be used to discuss gear rod/stock so that it is not wasted.
