Camera not working

Hello
Our camera tracking was working, but alas it has stopped.
By working, I mean that I loaded Kevin Watson's default code (from www.kevin.org/frc) and plugged my camera's power into Analog 1, the Pan servo on the camera into PWM1 and the Tilt servo on the camera into PWM2. And it magically moved the servos to track the object, as Kevin's code did. Oh, and I also plugged the serial port into the robot controller and the camera. (And did not plug in the DB9 cable at the same time). Is there a special condition to activate the PWMs? (And the COM1 terminal window would report the position and stop "searching...")

Oh, and on Labview the camera performs all functions, including servo tracking.

I suspect a special condition must be achieved that I had before (A 12 volt battery that our team electricians hooked up)? Would this matter?

Idiotic question here, but I just want to make sure, Are you talking about the blue one that hooks up to the rc controller? Mine is doing the samething and I just tried to fix it for 2 hours without it wanting to work

Yes that's the blue one - the one that connects with spade wires in to the part of the RC that says backup battery

Our camera had the same problem for awhile. Check your PWM connections; they tend to jar loose. I would suggest zip tying the cables to the holes that are pre-drilled into the camera mount. They stay in much better that way. Also, we discovered that you can get power to the camera through the first Digital port on the RC. FYI: The 7.2 V backup battery can drain fairly quickly, so make sure you charge it regularly. If the camera still isn't working, try restarting the RC and OI completely. Our camera worked fine once we did that.

In addition, check all your connections. Ours stopped moving because the serial port cable came loose.
