Using VEX range finder on the full-size FRC
I was trying to hook up a VEX infrared range finder to the full-sized robot. On the VEX robot, the sensor is supposed to be hooked up to two interrupt ports. I need to hook up my sensor to the full-sized FRC. What do the interrupt ports on the VEX robot do, and is there an equivalent on the full-sized FRC? Can I just hook up the connectors that are supposed to go into the VEX interrupt ports to any digitial I/O port?

Re: Using VEX range finder on the full-size FRC
Alright, so that's the programming. How do you actually wire the thing to the robot controller? Can I just plug the 2 3-pin connectors into any digital port on the full-sized FRC? All of you people who got this to work, how did you do it? And what do you do about the fact the the VEX IR range sensor comes with male connectors? Can you just connect that to the robot controller using a regular female-to-female PWM cable?

Re: Using VEX range finder on the full-size FRC
The sensor input line goes on a digital output.
The sensor output line goes on a digital interrupt (1-6). You can use a straight female-female cable to convert from the vex gender to the FRC gender. |
