Exclamation SOAP 108: 2006 Announcement

I apologize for the very late SOAP announcement post, but due to several issues in the past couple of months, things have been a bit disorganized which limited our ability to foresee what would happen in ’06. Without further ado, here she is.

This is divided into 3 sections: Scouting, the SOAP Kiosk, and match video CDs

----Scouting --------------------

So your team has an efficient and reliable scouting system and wants to share the data? We have the solution. SOAP 108 wants to make your data public.

As an initiative of the 2006 season, SOAP is trying to extend their reach into the scouting community. On top of our usual stuff, we have taken the time to craft 3rd party scouting data opportunities into our latest website. This will allow your data to be uploaded and displayed on our site, the way YOU want it to be. We will do any system, from any event.

All you need to do to get started is to contact me in anyway possible. I will talk with you further about how it works.

Email: substr108[at]gmail[dot]com, AIM: substr108

----SOAP Kiosk ---------------

Anyone attending the events SOAP attends will have access to our SOAP Kiosk in the pits themselves. At the kiosk you will be able to access a localized version of our website which will be updated live at the competition. This means any data we have, you can have. Printouts will be available as well.

----Match Video CDs ---------

Something else a lot of you have been asking about was the match video CDs. YES, we will be burning our digitized video on CDs again this year at the events we attend. CD registration will work as such:

Florida Regional: Registration will take place March 2nd (Thursday) at our kiosk.
Palmetto Regional & Championship: Registration will begin 2 weeks BEFORE the competition on our website.

Upon registering, you must print out your “receipt” which will have a unique barcode on it. You must have your receipt present to pickup your CDs. No exceptions.

CDs will contain only Day 1 of the Qualifying round. All videos from all days will be available on our website immediately after the competition.

Please post your questions comment and concerns.

Well it would have been really cool if you had had it for first week. Oh well.

Re: SOAP 108: 2006 Announcement

Thank you SOAP for your services! I have some ideas for scouting, but right now do not have the time nor manpower to make them happen this year. Next year, however, I'd like to get some of my students more actively involved. If requested, would the guys with the SOAP camera's be willing to take video of a team's pit/audience as well as their robot? Making promo videos is great with the SOAP archives, but I'd like to see more shots of the students, of people. Thanks again!
