Hubris

Step forth from the darkness, fellow programmers! Contary to what Larry Wall would have us believe, hubris is not a virtue restricted to Perl programmers. So, tell me what you optimized or obfuscated. Tell me why your team wouldn't be where they are without you. And tell me what you've done with your code that non-programmers simply can't appreciate. Don't be afraid to brag a little bit, all good programmers do

Stephen

P.S. if you didn't catch the perl allusion above, visit this for a description of Larry Wall's (the creator of Perl) 3 virtues of a perl programmer

And for those of you who don't know what Hubris is, it is a concept from ancient greece. The ancient greeks believed that having excessive pride and ambition would be punished by the gods. For instance, the story of arachne, who claimed she could weave better than anyone, including the gods, and ended up being turned into a spider (hence spiders are arachnids).
I love the anicient greeks.....
