dream team
Out of the robots you have seen so far what would be the dream team of this game. I say 254 111 296 would be a great team

Re: dream team
25, 1126 and 229 would make an interesting show but I'd think they're run out of balls (two of them have to be human player loaded).

Re: dream team
111, 494, and 1625 would dominate any other team hands down. I think that the alliances score for the match would be somewhere around .... o say maybe 200

Re: dream team
Give me 25, 86, and 1902.
Why 86 and 1902? Despite the occasional tip, 86 is in my opinion better at receiving balls from the floor and HP than 233. 1902 is in for their autonomous--ten balls in the corner plus a few in the center will be a sure-fire win. Throw in a generally awesome defensive ability with its volume offense, and you're got a robot that is aces in my book. |

Re: dream team
217, 254, (469/111)
Get this.. (469/111) picks up.. 217 loads up from the human player.. 254 HP's some, picks up some.. When they are satisfied, they all head to their scoring zone, and ALL go on the ramp. 217 in the corner, since they have a turret, 254 down the middle, and (469/111) on the other corner, because of their turret. When all three of them are on the ramp, you CANNOT defend them.. instead you have to just sit and watch them unload. In fact, they could take turns, to ensure that all their balls go in. |

1114,111, and 469.. Think this alliance would take it all the way, just look at it and think.

But truthfully 111, and 469 for sure in a match. And the third is hard but although Beatty didnt win and some people might be tired of hearing about them it did take all 3 robots in the finals including 111 to stop 71. If you let them get 1 shot off they will prob have about 9 to follow. There crab drive really helped them with there offensive manuevers. I really didnt get to see 217 in a match but heard graeat things from them at Detroit. They got there bot working and were making shots left and right. Thinking of 111, 469, it might be a good idea to have a good defensive robot that can heard alot of balls and dump in the lower goal. Such as 322 or 1. 322 especially can hold like 40 balls and dump really fast, plus as an added bonus a good bot for defensive purposes of holding off defenders while ur team is trying to shoot. The same thing with 1 they can pickup balls and dump them and when they go for the lower goal the can be almost midfield to make them in the lower goal. Plus this robot can shoot balls if neede and play nas a good blocker on defense and a good screener of offense. When making a All-Star team dont try to make alliances that will go out and just shoot. There robot might be able to sink all balls in auto mode, but what if they are top heavy and tip easy. The other alliance will have 2 minutes to cover up to a 100 point defecite. take away 25 for ramp and thats 75. most matches I saw in the finals were between 50-70 points for each alliance. That score was with defense being applied without defense and set of three robots in the finals could vary well score 100 + points. ![]() |

Re: dream team
I would like to see 254, 1111, and 175 in an alliance. (254, no questions asked.) (1111 and 175 were some of the best multi-purpose robots I've seen at Cheaspeakes.)

Re: dream team
team 25 is an amazing shooter and fighter and after watching the Boston regional, team 233 is also. if you put those two teams together with another shooter/defensive bot, like ummmmmm... team 1279 they might just be unstoppable.

Re: dream team
I'll just restrict myself to robots I've seen in person: 254, 968, 753. You know about the Poofs and Johnny Five, but you might not know 753, which is a tank-treaded shoving monster that was agile enough to hold 254 to about 6-8 points one match at Portland. They were on the winning alliance with 254 at PNW, too. They sort of shoot the center goal, but who cares? You pick a robot, and it never scores with 753 guarding it. I really like 330, the Beach Bots, and 488, the X-Bots, but we only get to put together one alliance, right? It also hurts to leave out 492... and 1138... &c. Actually, Top Gun played defense really well, too, but we aren't quite in 753's league.
And, hey, the idea was to put together an interesting alliance, right? |

Re: dream team
Now here's the $1,000,000 question: Why pick the twins or the triplets over one or the other???? I mean yes there's driving skill involved, but why are people picking 494 over 70 and same thing for the triplets???
