Re: Mentor Needed!!!
Though I'm not able to mentor, it's usually pretty helpful to potential mentors if you outline where you are, what kind of mentor you need / what their responsibilities would be, when you need them to start, etc. Good luck

Re: Mentor Needed!!!
I did a conference presentation on recruiting and retaining mentors - you can find the presentation on the NEMO website. It might give you some ideas. Feel free to contact me if you have questions.

Re: Mentor Needed!!!
It also helps if you say where you're located.

Re: Mentor Needed!!!
To further expand on what raf4far was trying to say,
a mentor is needed for Team 4 Element We are located in HighTechHigh-Los Angeles School in Lake Balboa California (Van Nuys - Encino area) "Wish-List": -An adult licensed by LAUSD. (preferred but might not be necessary) -Someone with knowledge of FIRST -A mentor who will be able to stay to supervise us work after-school and weekends at least when it is build season. -And someone who can communicate well with the School Faculty as well as the parents of the team. -We have many senior members who will be able to teach new additions to the team, so someone who has experience in engineering isn't necessary, but it would extra nice if they did too. But, to sum it all up, We need a mentor who will be able to be supportive of the team, understands what FIRST is, communicative, and will take the time to supervise us when we want to work. for more information, feel free to message me or raf4far. Thank you for your time, and if you have anyone to recommend, please let us know! |

Re: Mentor Needed!!!
So I take it you're looking for a head mentor? Hm... those could be hard to come by. But since you are in the LA area (I'm guessing) then there's an abundance of people. I would do it, but that means commuting from Illinois to California everyday and with gas prices this high, I think I'll only be able to make it to Iowa City. That's about how far $19 will get me.
Edit/ Good luck. Last edited by Jeremiah Johnson : 21-08-2006 at 08:00. Reason: Good luckness |
