Donated materials
I have looked through the rules and I am confused about donated materials. If a mentor or sponser donates materials for the robot, do they need to be accounted for? I mean, are they part of the $3500 budget and need to be assesed at "fair market value"?

Treat it like you purchased it.

Re: Donated materials
Exactly.
Our Sponsor, Northrop Grumman, can custom make carbon fiber pieces and give them to us for free. But, we have to still account for cost which puts past the limit. This is why the rule exists, it wouldn't be fair if my team, or any team, had access to a limitless (in terms of cost) supply of spacecraft quality materials. |
