The design is excellent ... something I have grown to expect from your robots year to year. just excellent. two questions, first is how wide the ramp parts that the team's wheels will ride on... can't quite make out how big of a gap that is in the middle. second question, how do you pick off the ground I am not quite seeing it, and am quite interested (or do you plan to only pick from the human loader).

Good Luck at your first regional and see you in Waterloo.

The ramps have 2 different widths. We believe that we can can 2 robots with 28" width or one 28" and one 38". Yes we can pick off of the ground.

I think that arm has a one stage lift and a rotating arm. Hence when the lift is collapsed the arm reaches the floor.

$5 on 3 matches.

anyway, that's what i was thinking the first time i saw it, hopefully when the ramps are up it protects it also. Looks good steve, are we goign to see it in Rochester sometime? either FLR or offseason?

Camera is only needed for 15 seconds. If it breaks, so be it. As for Rochester, neither I or the team will make it this year. I am planning on attending the one and only Rah Cha Cha Rukus. Not sure if the team will be able to make it though. Ramps, what ramps?

Nice design as always Steve! I had an exact sketch of this design at the kickoff on a piece of napkin. I bet there will be alot of similar designs. We'll be missing you guys down at FLR this year!

Since I am out on sabbatical the next couple of years I'll see what I can help out with at the competition.

Been missing it...

The post is inside of our bumpers and very close to the ramps. If we are contact there we are being hit outside of our bumper zone. That is a chance that we are taking.

That was a given.
The Sparx by themselves are good for at least $20 for an opportunity to slap Alex in the face with a pie!

Re: pic: Blizzard VIII

Very nice looking robot - I especially like the color scheme.

Couple of questions:

Does the camera track while you're moving? I'd worry that it would wiggle too much on the end of the support to maintain lock on the light.

Is there a stop for robots once they get onto the horizontal platform? (I can't see one in the picture). If not, are you concerned about the robots driving over the edge?

Anyhow, see you in LA. in 2 weeks!

Looks like a solid design this year. I like the simplicity of the bot, hopefully we will get a chance to climb those ramps a few times this year.
