My husband and I were just talking about this round this morning. Wow, wow, wow! I am so glad you got a picture. To me, this was FIRST at its absolute best. Could we get a copy with a higher resolution for our scrap book and website?

Re: pic: 2177 supporting 830 & 1094

just looking at that picture makes me uncomfortable. i dont want to think about what would happen to me if i drove the robot off of a ramp. the robot is pretty robust and would surive. i'm not so durable

Re: pic: 2177 supporting 830 & 1094

That was an awesome match, I was watching from the side. "Come on 1094, just drive a little harder! Nooo they bottomed out!! Oh here comes 830, yeah they're good pushers, they'll push em on! NO WAIT DONT GO TOO FAR!! HEY I think they can balance!! OOoohhhhhhh!!!"

One of the most exciting ramp/lifter moments all day, close with the first time 1625 showed their double lifter !

Re: pic: 2177 supporting 830 & 1094

What amazed all three of our teams was 830's low-end torque... the final "push" broke all four zip ties that held on 2177's top platform. You can see the offset under the "0" in 830.

830 and 1094 -- great job, we loved working with you!

Re: pic: 2177 supporting 830 & 1094

Not to toot a certain company's horn, but.....

830 was sporting two (2) Andy-Mark servo transmissions. No custom gearbox. AM is HQS (high quality stuff)

ON another note, its good to see my old team finally get out of the quarterfinals. Congrats to this alliance for pulling the upset. How many bonus points were given? 15 and 15?

Great picture. It is now my desktop background.

Re: pic: 2177 supporting 830 & 1094

Yup, 15 and 15.

I couldn't make it to the event, so I was watching the webcast. Since the frames per second was lower, I went from seeing my team on the other side of the field to on the ramp. Gave my heart quite a jump...

It was definitely great to see us make it to the semis. Thanks for being great alliance partners, 2177 and 1094!

I keep hearing about a “piece of fabric.” Can you enlighten those of us who were on the other side of the field what that was?

Re: pic: 2177 supporting 830 & 1094

the bumpers on 830 are, as i am sure you can tell, designed so that they help the entire robot look like a Michigan Football helmet. Part of this includes a yellow layer attached to a blue layer of fabric. The yellow layer was detached from the edge of the front bumper, thus allowing it to hang down to the floor. It proceeded to hang down for the entirety of the time remaining in the match, and to my knowledge kept 830's alliance from winning one of the SF matches. If this bumper had stayed attached, would the regional have ended differently? Thats not my call to make. In any case, this picture is truly a feat, and one of the more memorable moments of week one, if not the entire season.

Thanks, I was wondering how we won that round. I haven’t seen any pictures or video of that side of the field.
