Scaled K'nex model the field

First off, somebody tell me if this is the wrong place for this to be posted. I'm new, and haven't quite figured out how this place works.

I think we've all come to the conclusion that this year's game is... challenging.

So, I was sitting here, looking at diagrams of the field, at pictures of things I'm supposed to be making, and of my SolidWorks screen, and none of them were really "doing it" for me. So I went through my closet, found my k'nex, did some measuring, and an hour later I ended up with this:

It's almost perfectly 7:36 scale, with only some minor problems. and It really helped me to visualize the game, put everything in proportion, and figure out exactly what to do.

So, before I go through any potentially unnecessary trouble, is anyone interested in instructions/detail shots/larger images to make their own?

Re: Scaled K'nex model the field

Ohh yes! That was very creative! I like how you used different colored golf balls as the large ones. This type of model (whether knex or something else) could be very helpful in build season to see how the gameplay will probably work.

I would love if you would post directions!

Re: Scaled K'nex model the field

That's cool. I was thinking of making a mockup of about the same size out of cardboard, this may help.
