'08 CAD Model Wish List

What CAD model(s) do you wish were available on the FirstCadLibrary.

Keep in mind that I need to have the part in hand in order to model it. I have access to this years (actually the last several years) kit so anything goes concerning those parts.

Re: '08 CAD Model Wish List

Someone had posted a request for the tote(s) that the parts came in this year in another thread. I believe that would be a challege for you if you weren't busy doing anything else.. lol

Probably low on the priority list, but it has been requested this year.

Other than that, I think the Toughbox would be another one (unless it's already on the Andymark site - and then a link to the AM page at least would be appreciated.)

I personally like to think that FIRSTCadLibrary.com could and should be a central resource for all FIRST CAD based needs.

Keep up the great work! We all appreciate it!

I've already released my version of the Toughbox. It's built with detailed gears and is weight accurate.

I've had dialogs with various Autodesk folks about being the release site for official models over the last couple seasons or at least forming a joint effort to get the most accurate parts out there. Let's just say that we could not come to an acceptable agreement. I did find it ironic that some of my parts are in the official "2008 Kit of parts" (hover over the lead screw nut or kitframe parts). No harm & no foul. It's just funny to me knowing some of the conversations I had with Autodesk earlier.

The effort is a labor of love so I'll continue to crank out parts as fast as I can seperately from the official KOP. My current "thing" is to make the parts weight accurate ( you don't get this anywhere else ). I hope to update all of the old parts by next year.

I'm sorry. I missed that even when you pointed out that you had already done it just now. I was originally looking in "Motors" and not "Mechanical" section.

Maybe a seperate category for Motor and/or Transmission assemblies is appropriate as the site continues to grow? Idk.. just a thought.

Opps, I should put it in the "Motors" section since I put the BB Trannies there. Thanks for pointing that out Elgin. I'll move it this evening.

Re: '08 CAD Model Wish List

Is it just me, or are the power distribution blocks included in the AUtodesk kit of parts cadded very oddly? Like it is square and wrong colored. I would greatly appreciated if the Power distribution block was included in the first cad library. thanks!

Joysticks. I've had some difficulty modeling them myself and I can't seem to find them anywhere.

I would like some of the pneumatics parts if they are not already in the library.

Re: '08 CAD Model Wish List

Not so much this year as others, but it would be nice to have a dewalt transmission in the library. although im sure im not the first (or even the 12th) person to ask you for that.

Overall, it would be nice to see a lot more of the AndyMark products in the FCL for the sake of not having to convert to inventor format each time.

How about the two plates that were included with the toughbox's?

How about some iBumpers?

Pikat, I agree, the CADs for the Power Distribution Block (One of the more vital CADs I needed) seem like they were cadded by a 5 year old. A shame if I do say so myself.

Re: '08 CAD Model Wish List

the main thing that would be nice is the 2008 ball. i know you have one but is it usable in dynamic simulation? does it bounce right?

I would second that request, the ones in the Autodesk kit are completely useless.

Re: '08 CAD Model Wish List

Can you post the Polycord Pulley (under manfactured parts) as a Step file sometime in the future?
Not a big rush, but I would like to analyze that further at some point.

Thanks!

Also, what RC & OI can be used to simulate this year's?
Are all the parts on this page (with year specific titles in particular the RC, and OI, and Spikes) compatible (with the overall size anyways) of this year's parts?

I haven't had a chance to study the Kit of Parts that much this year, and compare it with those.
