Team Theme
Our team has been thinking of a theme, and one of our ideas is a WoW(world of warcraft) if we do that then we would call our robot Leeroy.
What are some other team themes out there.

We are doing a pinball theme, using the song "Pinball Wizard" and we are calling our bot Tommy.

We usually select a there in the pre season and it was C.R.A.N.K. T.H.A.T. ( Creative Rethinking And New Knowledge that Highlights Aspects (of) Technology). But alot of people complained about it so we got a new one.
We not Me.

You will have to wait to see the TechnoKats theme for this year until St. Louis, but last year we had the most "Rockin'" year ever with our Back in Black Tour.

Is it considerd to be un original for a rookie team to theme their robot after their schools mascot? At Hales we have the Spartan, so we where thinking about making a Troy/300 ish theme. Does anyone else name their robot ofter their schools mascot?

We're going to have lightsabers because we're the "Lasers". We named our robot "El Jefe" so maybe sombreros too =3

We started off as the Cheetahs... so I'm guessing you can imagine what our theme was. When we switched sponsors and renamed ourselves to the ÜberBots, it took us a while to decide on a theme. At first it was a pirate theme, but we decided on a superman theme, which is here to stay, since the "Über" in "ÜberBots" means super.
As for ideas for other teams... we almost voted for a Greek gods theme instead of superman, and I think that would have been a lot of fun. And to Matth3w, I don't think it's bad for a rookie team to theme their team around their school's mascot. It will help draw your school and your community into robotics, as well. Besides, you can always change it later (like we did) if you think of something better.
