Do you mean like one of the those thin black cylinders that they use on the trunk of the vans and suv's? My team used one of those last year to unfold our ramp in the end game so I think they are legal.

DANGER, DANGER!!!! Don't EVER assume that because something was OK in a previous year that it is OK this year. The correct answer to this question (as Mr. L said so eloquently) can be found in Rule 87 of the 2008 manual.
