Analog pin output data
I have an old QuickShot GenX 500 Joystick that I want to use for experimenting with a theory I have. My problem: I can't find the documentation on the analog outputs anywhere. Is there any kind of program or anything that will tell me what pin a signal is being thrown two when you output something?
The reason I want to use this particular joystick is because A. I already had it from years ago, B. It has a "Z" Rotational axis perpendicular to the other two axis. |

Re: Analog pin output data
A quick Google leads me to believe that it's a USB device, which means you would have to use the chicklet. I don't think your device is supported.
Either way, I recommend you just plug it in, and use the Dashboard Viewer, with it set to OI mode. Then you can move it around and poke things and see what variables are being used. Unless you're asking something else... |

Re: Analog pin output data
or, if you don't have the dashboard, just set up some printf()s in the code that tell u the value of the joystick, and if you don't know which variable you want, then print all of them!

Re: Analog pin output data
Thanks guys. We ended up and did the print spam thing, thanks for the idea. Luckily the Z axis on the joystick outputs directly too _aux! No long and exhausting hack arounds for it.
It's an old version of said joystick, it has serial connector. |
