Were having trouble downloading inventor from the autodesk.com/firstbase website. Any ideas other than try again in a while?

Re: Inventor Download

I haven't tried this yet, but will later this weekend because we're having problems with the d/l as well. If you find a torrent or something of the same program that you would get form their website and download that and enter the serial number that they give you for the student version that might work, but its just a guess. I'm also assuming that that is legal too. It seems like it would be because you are getting the copy you own because it's 1 of the 10 you get for free, and that serial number would be used up once the program is registered. If anyone knows the legality for sure please post so i know if i should do it/suggest it.

Re: Inventor Download

I just this moment finished insatlling it but had to do it using the 4 zip files- I then had to extract all the contents of each zip file into one central file, and then run setup.

Bring along the First Rule Book, you can read it from cover to cover while all this is taking place.
I am having problems registering it, but it gives you 30 days to do that.

Good Luck.

Re: Inventor Download

I know I may have mentioned this before, but I strongly recommend using the FirstBase downloader tool. Especially since it's a piece of software Autodesk created just for FIRST teams.

Just my two cents.

The most common problem I see with people trying to register is they do not realize that the registration site is a different site that requires creation of a new username and password account (follow the instructions for allowable passwords).

An alternative site is http://engineersrule.org
