IR Board Programming
Okay, dumb question. What do you use to program the Ir board besides the programming switch. Cables or an EEprom unit?

Re: IR Board Programming
You just use the button on the IR board to program the IR board. You have to program it to work with your RC by programming the RC. This has been discussed many times, so just search around and see what you get.

Re: IR Board Programming
I believe that 5 pin header is used to program the PIC on the IR board but I'm not sure why you would want to do that.

Re: IR Board Programming
You don't actually "program" the IR sensor board in the sense of modifying its software. You merely "train" it to recognize modulated IR signals. All you need in order to do that is a power source, an IR transmitter (i.e. remote control), and the pushbutton switch on the board.

Re: IR Board Programming
make sure you ground your IR board to the robot and not the backup battery. If you do your program won't work.

Re: IR Board Programming
team877 if that is true I have to thank you for saving me countless hours of painful debugging because I was wondering how such a simplistic test code I wrote could fail so miserably
