sighhh can somebody clarify the 120 60 psi

The manual seems to say we can only use 60 psi, but it seems everybody everywhere speeks in terms of 120 psi.

Re: sighhh can somebody clarify the 120 60 psi

The compressor puts out a about 120psi before the relief valve opens. You are allowed up to 4 storage tanks (or accumulators) at 120 psi. After the storage tanks you must use the regulator to drop the pressure to 60 psi. This is known as the working pressure since it is the maximum that can be used at the cylinders. The pneumatics manual has goo drawing and some pictures of how this all connected

Re: sighhh can somebody clarify the 120 60 psi

The 120psi is refering to stored psi, meaning that is the amount of psi you can store in your up two four accumulators.

The 60 psi is refering to the workable psi, meaning that is the amount of psi you can use in any given action i.e. extending or retracting a piston

You should have to pressure valves. One that is used to show you the amoun of pressure you have stored this one is not adjustable. The other is adjustable and you must place this in line with and pnematics you are using and your accumalators. You take that pressure valve and adjust it for 60 psi.

Re: sighhh can somebody clarify the 120 60 psi

Basically, the way that the system should be set up is like this

Compresser, pressure switch, relief valve, tanks, 120psi

From there, only 60 PSI (or less) will be let through to the solenoids and cylinders. This is so that, among other reasons, there is not an immediate drop in performance after using up air, because, as long as the tanks hold more than 60 psi, the "working pressure" will always be at 60.
