Switching between Hybrid and User-Controlled

Being a rookie team, we were wondering...

Do we have to program the detector to change between autonomous and user-controlled into the code ourselves?? Or will we not need to.

Also, what do you do to test both hybrid and user-controlled?

Thank you.

I don't think so. The change is done on-field, by the field control system. If you haven't already, you might want to make (or buy) a "dongle" that can change between disable, auto/hybrid, and teleop. Schematics are on the IFI website; AndyMark has one for sale.

I'm not sure about the programming side of things, though.

Re: Switching between Hybrid and User-Controlled

no, you don't have to do it yourself.
There are 2 ways to practice hybrid.
1) build an autonomous box that connects to the Comp port of the OI and switches between auto, teleop and disable. Instructions are at the ifi website.
2) change your team number to 0000 and run the robot, it switches to auto...

Re: Switching between Hybrid and User-Controlled

We tried 0000 but it just stood there. If you look on the schematics, its just 2 pins in the competition serial port that need to be connected. The top left and the top one under the 15 (i think? or the fourth one from topleft...ill get back to you...in programming class). then when you want autonomousto stop unplug the wire.
