IR board.

Hi, I just wired my board recently. Here is the problem, When i hooked up the board it was working like the error led would light up and then turn off until i press the white button and the CMD 0 Lights up. The thing is when i hooked the Wire up on the 9v battery then i got is the error LED lighted up for 1 sec and then truns off and dosent light up again and even if i press the white button nothing happens. when i plugged the IR in the Fuse panel it still did the same thing. and when i took it out of the fuse panel,it did not work at all, even though i made sure that my wirings are correct. I checked wheather they are all getting voltage after i rewired it,I saw that only the wiring ribbon and the board is getting powered. The IR reciver is not getting powered.

I even read the post from before, Teams have said that its the regulator. But in this case does someone think its the regulator or not.Thank you for your help.
If someone has spare IR we would love to have it.

Re: IR board.

No, When i connected it up with a backup battery i did not connect it with main 12 V,before it stopped responding.but i also noticed that if i connect it to Digital In/Out on RC, I get the signal indicating that the switch is connected on OI?im wondering is this programming error, Like are we suppose to prgram it first and then train the board.

Re: IR board.

Bust out your multimeter and check the voltages on either leg of the 5v regulator (it's big and black, first big thing that comes off the power pins) and check the voltage on either leg. If you get 5, that could be good depending on your view of it, your 5v regulator is good but something else is wrong. If you get nothing, your regulator is most likely dead and you will need to replace it with a piece from digikey (although time is running out) or you can buy a 7805 from radioshack and solder it in place of the current one.

That is an interesting idea. The game will be started automatically and the autonomous/hybrid period starts when the ref's say so. You wont be able to physically flip the switch on the robot.

Or are you talking about a button on the control board?

Yes, thats what i mean, to mount the switch on the control system which will perform this task.

Re: IR board.

There is already a Competition Port on the Operator Interface which should let you do just that...You'd need to get a switch and wire it up to the proper pins. I don't really know electronics, but the pinout guide is here: http://www.ifirobotics.com/docs/comp...guide-reva.pdf and this thread should have some more info.

Re: IR board.

As posted previously I am unsure of why you would want to do this. If you do this though you will have to take into account that you robot will be dissabled, so any code will not be able to be run.
