Team 766 Robot's-Eye Video from SVR
The robocam returns! We filmed our matches at Davis last year and at Cal Games last fall; now on to 2008 and the Silicon Valley Regional. Check out all sixteen videos on Vimeo at the link below:
http://www.vimeo.com/album/9280 This year I mounted the camera to the final stage of our elevator, so it rises up to about ten feet in the air when we hurdle for added excitement. But in other respects, it's still the same cheap camcorder from last year, and still attached with polycarb, a bolt, and some velcro. The quality's low, but the videos are fun to watch and they actually document our matches pretty well. Each match video is tagged by team number, so if you were in one of our matches at SVR last weekend, look for footage of your robot with a link below: 8, 100, 114, 115, 190, 192, 253, 254, 256, 581, 604, 649, 668, 670, 675, 692, 840, 846, 971, 972, 1072, 1280, 1458, 1516, 1548, 1700, 1834, 1868, 2035, 2090, 2135, 2144, 2159, 2283, 2367, 2446, 2473, 2629 Also, don't miss a candid video of the ball randomization process. Thanks to everyone who made the Silicon Valley Regional happen and to all the teams for a great competition. |

Re: Team 766 Robot's-Eye Video from SVR
Really cool Nick, I tried to watch with the webcast but the cameras always zoom in too much. I was worried because often it looked like the robot was not doing much. I think I only saw you guys hurdle once.
Anyways I watched a few of these videos with much relief. I just have one question. Is the robot having trouble picking up the ball? |

Re: Team 766 Robot's-Eye Video from SVR
we were going to do this this year also but there's no where for us to mount our camera. Also we wouldn't have made weight with it
this is the camera we use: http://www2.oregonscientific.com/sho...cid=14&pid=709 |

Re: Team 766 Robot's-Eye Video from SVR
Thanks Mark! Don't worry, we did hurdle at least 8 or 9 times during SVR, which was much less than we would've liked but at least fairly consistent. We hurdled twice in Match 35 and I'm sure we could have done 3 in a match if we hadn't had some problems with the elevator-control potentiometer on Saturday.

We might not have made weight with ours either, except that I championed the cause of leaving the camera on pretty vigorously. |

Oooh this is cool. A bit nauseating after a while with all the jerkiness, but still cool nonetheless. If you watch these videos and the archived match videos at the same time, you could probably figure out how to deal with those blind spots caused by the reflection off the lane divider and diamond plate.
