Go to Post I got something totally different from my FIRST experience. to me the spirit of FIRST is all about sharing. during the 6 week build period, you share yourself with the other people on your team. at the competition, you share your creation with everyone who watches your 'bot play the game. - George1902 [more]

Judy Spitz, Verizon Business senior vice president and chief information officer, will kick off the 2008 Global Marathon from the Verizon Corporate Center in Basking Ridge, N.J., March 26 at 12 p.m. Eastern time. The event will end the next day at 12p.m. Eastern time with Spitz, joined by Dean Kamen, inventor of theSegway(R) Personal Transporter, iBOT(R) Mobility System and other medical technology devices and founder of FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology).
The film crew for this event was at the Connecticut Regional this past week interviewing our women student members, alumnae and mentors. It will be interesting to see what will make it to the webcast. More info: http://www.prnewswire.com/cgi-bin/st...4776690&EDATE= and at http://www.eweek.org.

you can watch the webcast at:

It's the link at the bottom of the page. Its a well done documentary and it includes an interview with Dean. Great work to the teams who participated, and thanks Kathiek for putting this together. Hopefully we will see more of these kinds of things, thanks to Dean's homework.

It's a little ironic that they didn't talk to the only all-girls team at the event, 2265.

I didn't put it together; Regional Director Randy Schaefer from NYC/NJ FIRST along with sponsors Verizon did the work for this documentary!
