Introduction from a new FIRST mentor

I wanted to say hi to everyone and introduce myself for those who don't know me. My name is Leon Machado and I just signed up to be a FIRST mentor at the Boston Regional. I wanted to get a jump on things, as to try to help out with what I can.

I started FIRST in '97 with team 88, TJ2. I played an active role with many teams till a few years ago. I had to take some time off from a number of things in my life to fix a few of the medical issues I had been suffering with.

I earned a B.S. in Business Management with a concentration in Operations Management from Bridgewater State College. I've always possessed a passion for science and technology even though I'm more of a businessman and manager.

I'm currently working for Carbonite, Inc. as a customer support specialist in Boston, MA. I also chair the Cultural Council in the town I'm currently living in in Blackstone, MA.

I do possess a wide variety of skills and abilities. I've also earned my Eagle Scout Award from the Boy Scouts, so I have a very varied background.

I suppose if anyone is looking for advice, the best way to contact me is through my email at leon.machado (at) gmail.com. I will try to respond as quickly as possible. And please don't hesitate even if you don't think I won't know the answer. You won't know until you ask, and I always try to be as honest and as straight forward as possible. When you do contact me, please also let me know your team number so I have an idea of who I'm helping and I'll be able to see where in the world you are, as some advice may need customizing depending upon your specific location.

I suppose that's all. I do look forward to hearing from everyone. I hope I can help many of you, or get you to the advice that you need. Till then, best wishes in FIRST.
