my FIRST power drill

Alright, so everyone has seen that video they play at the beginning of each regional event (I think they played it at kickoff, too). Its the video that starts off very quietly saying

MY FIRST: Pet, steps, etc....

then some wicked cool music kicks in and it says
MY FIRST: Power Drill, team shirt, venue, etc...

I'm wondering where I can find that video. My team (229) wants to use this video at events like open houses and activities fairs.

Any help is appreciated! Thanks!

there is one incorrect saying on the video, at least I think, instead of "Your FIRST Cicuit Board" it should be "Your FIRST FRIED Circuit Board"

lol, our captain just pointed out to me that we're in the video at like 1:09-1:11

Never noticed that even after seeing it 6 times already.

Hehe, the second "big kid" picture is of our drive team just before our robot fell over and the arm snapped, needless to say we were yelling and stuff on kickoff day!

I'm surprised the video doesn't include a reference or two to the the things that qualify a team for the Chairman's award. Maybe something about the first team that you help bootstrap themselves into existence and stable operation? or your first visit to visit a government official?

About the music - It doesn't do much for me, but I'm an old fossil. Pay attention to what will make a favorable impression on your audience, that's not necessarily what you personally enjoy the most....

Re: my FIRST power drill

FIRST has an ok version of the video on their site, but does anyone have a higher quality version?

whenever i play the FIRST version, it's all pixelated... and makes for a REALLY bad impression... i mean, what kind of respectable engineer puts a pixelated video up for marketing purposes!!!

If anyone has a higher quality version, please pm me, and we can figure out a way to transfer it. i think the highest quality i have is 340 / 480... and when i want to show it on an hd projector for a demo, it looks horrible.

I KNOW there's an HD version out there, since it looked AMAZING at the competitions...

If you have a high-res version, please pm me! I'd love to get a copy.

thanks,

-Z

The best quality version on FIRST's site is the "Windows Media Large (18.9 MB)" and is at 640 x 480. I would like a better quality version as well but i doubt FIRST ever released it or will. Even if they put it on their site i would be a huge file.

PS. I'm still looking for the music in this video. if anyone knows the title or artist please let me know, thanks.

I'm pretty sure the videos they show on the big screen are in a DVD provided by FIRST along with the national anthems and the game video and such.

most likely it was made just for the video, since its timed perfectly with the graphics.
it wouldnt be very hard for you to extract the music from it though.

Yeah extracting it would be easy but it sounds really cool and like there may be more to it, does anyone know if this is true and if so what the rest of the song is called?
