Inventor Tutorial Program

This summer I was planning to learn Autodesk Inventor with some teammates. Can anyone suggest a good tutorial to use for beginners? I would prefer an online or downloadable one rather than a book. Nobody on my team knows Inventor or any other CAD program, so it really should start basic. What would you recommend? Thanks

Re: Inventor Tutorial Program

I learned inventor from theses three sites as well as just playing around http://students4.autodesk.com/?nd=m_learning_detail&product_type_id=3&return_nd= m_learning&training_course_id=55, http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet...linkID=9242016 and, http://students6.autodesk.com/?nd=inventor_demos. Their good tutorials they have skill levels for basic to advanced. But it is my suggestion to play around with inventor on your own for a little bit then you will have an essayer time going through the tutorials because you will have some idea how things work in inventor. It also gives you a chance to learn what some of the tools are and what theses tools do. The third link has some good videos to start you off some of their topics are advanced but they do allot of simple steps to accomplish the larger picture. I have also found that inventor has a learning curve but once you get the inventor mindset every thing you learned comes together and you understand every thing allot better. So stick with it.

One site you might need a password but i am not sure.

Re: Inventor Tutorial Program

Well, Molten (a user on here) has been giving me lessons and I compiled them into a basic tutorial. It's how I learned . It is by no means seamlessly fomatted and perfect but it does get all of the basic commands (for part mode anyways). He is still teaching me things about assemblies but most of what you need to know is in there.

PM me if you are interested.

Re: Inventor Tutorial Program

You could look into taking classes at a local technical college that may offer something. Otherwise, the tutorials right on Autodesk's site are probably the best to work off of.

Re: Inventor Tutorial Program

Just to add in my two cents, I never really used any tutorials to learn inventor. So my advice is to play around with it to "get the feel down," and then branch off into specific tutorials for things like dynamic sim, wires and harness, etc.

Re: Inventor Tutorial Program

As everyone else has been saying, spend some time getting familiar with the controls of Inventor. Spend a few days, if not a week playing around with it.

The way I learned was from a mentor, then working on CAD files for last years robot. I also learned some more of its features through the tutorials in the Help menu.
But, the most I've learned about it has been on my own, with playing around in it. Once you get the basics and with a little bit of time, you can learn tons.

Re: Inventor Tutorial Program

Try contacting your local Autodesk reseller and see if you can squeeze into a public class they may offer. I work for an Autodesk Reseller by the name of IMAGINiT. We have close to 50 offices across the US and a few worldwide. Our office in Manchester, NH has supported local teams whenever we can fit them in, if a class isn't already full. Summer vacation is a great time to see if one can be found near you and get some professional training.
