Pneumatic Wheels
Team 449 is building a new robot cart and needs pneumatic tires. Does anyone know where to get reasonably priced pneumatic tires that we can attach a #35 sprocket? We are aiming for an 8'' diameter, 2-3'' width.
Thanks in advance. |

Re: Pneumatic Wheels
Skyway (a former supplier to FIRST Robotics) has several pneumatic and soft non-pneumatic wheels that might work:

Re: Pneumatic Wheels
I'm pretty sure Pink has used pneumatic tires for a while, you could also ask them..unless those are custom made

Re: Pneumatic Wheels
I've seen places like Northern Tool offer tons of pneumatic wheels in that kind of size range, but I don't think I've seen any that are particularly sprocket-friendly. I'd play with them and figure out whether you can do something with them before shelling out the dough.

Re: Pneumatic Wheels
Team RUSH has run pneumatic wheels in the past. I don't know the exact supplier, but the products were for electric scooters, had aluminum rims and were available with sprockets that bolted directly to the hub.
Search a little for scooter wheels and I'm sure you'll find something. Check out this URL, tey have some similar items. Scooter Parts |

Re: Pneumatic Wheels
Northern Tool has the part you want for $15 per tire: http://tinyurl.com/6f7hzj
The wheels have a solid internal frame that can be modified to accept an Andymark wheel hub and bearing for use in your team's new cart. |

Re: Pneumatic Wheels
Harbor Freight carries several styles too. You may have to weld your sprocket on.
