[OCCRA]: Rule update is coming out!

The Game and Kit Committee decided that the rules did not provide proper incentive for developing an autonomous VEX robot program; to correct that oversight and give the programmers a suitable reward, the new scoring rule for VEX field goals is:

VG7 Scoring: Alliances will receive double points (6 pts.) for each FIELDGOAL scored during the autonomous period and 1 point for each other GOAL (ball scored in the colored goal) as specified in the Game Rules Section above.



Additionally we have changed the playing surface of the VEX field to a very low pile carpet that is easy to get. It is available at Home Depot for a reasonable cost $0.47 per sq ft ( really I did not make it up). It is perfection Green. Details are in the e-mail. A playing surface will cost you $22.00 plus coin for a full 4 x 12 piece that will cover the full 4 x 8 surface and give you a little extra for a clean work surface if you choose.
