does anyone know if theres anyway to get the team number before the season?
Also for ppl in Ontario, any corporates you know may be interested in sponsoring a new team?

You need to sign up on TIMS as a new team and then register for a regional.

Once you register for a regional, a permanant number will be assigned to your team.

Al, if no one at your school knows your team number yet, have your lead teacher/mentor contact Karen Rosenthal at 416-396-5907. She will be able to get your team up to speed on your team number, registrations, and the TIMS system.

As for your second question Al, that's the magic question every team (not just in Ontario) is asking. Take a walk around your area, and assume that every company that has the capability to offer a worthwhile sponsorship is interested. A good place to start is with every company you buy something from for the team, but don't limit yourself to that.

Some of the best Toronto-area sponsors have come from banks, pharmaceutical companies, consultants, and other non-engineering/manufacturing/supplier related industries.

Great to hear that a team is starting at Northern, I am a former Team Leader of 610 (Crescent School) and I know how close Northern is to Crescent. If you guys need any help this year I can help you get in contact with the team at Crescent, they are only a couple minutes away.
