**FIRST EMAIL**/Senior Mentor Call - The Chairman's Award
Greetings Teams:
Mark your Calendars! The FIRST Senior Mentors are pleased to announce they will be hosting the third in a series of important Teleconference calls for FRC Team mentors and coaches this coming Wednesday, November 12, at 7 pm EST. This call features a discussion regarding the The Chairman’s Award and includes an overview of the entire application and preparation process with suggestions for useful resources. This call will be hosted by FIRST Senior Mentors Allan Cameron and Fredi Lajvardi from Carl Hayden High School Falcon Robotics, Team 842 the 2008 FIRST Championship Chairman’s Award Winning team. You can’t get much better than that! All FRC Team mentors and coaches are welcome. The call in number is 1-800-503-2899. The Access number is 6663906. We will have 150 lines available, so lines are on a "first come, first served" basis. We suggest calling in approximately 5 minutes before the teleconference is scheduled start. This call will also be recorded and be made available for replay at: http://www.usfirst.org/community/frc/content.aspx?id=10124. On this same page you will also find downloads of the previous FRC Mentors/Coaches calls; Orientation 101 and the 2009 New Control System & Beta Testing Observations. When you have accessed the conference call line, please put your phone on "mute". Press " * 6 " to mute your phone so that your background noises and chatter will not be heard throughout the call. Whenever you wish to speak, press " * 7 " to un-mute your line. If your phone has a separate "mute" key, you may press that key to mute your microphone element at all times, except when you wish to speak. We highly recommend that before joining the call that you download a copy of the call outline. This can be found at: http://www.usfirst.org/community/frc/content.aspx?id=10124 The FIRST Senior Mentor Hotline provides an effective means and opportunity for teams, coaches, and mentors to direct questions, and to quickly obtain information and/or to request other assistance from FIRST Senior Mentors. All correspondence and inquiries should be addressed to FIRSTseniormentors@usfirst.org Please Join Us! Again, all team coaches & mentors are welcome, especially those attached to rookie teams. The FIRST Senior Mentors |

Re: **FIRST EMAIL**/Senior Mentor Call - The Chairman's Award
Please plan to join the conference call this week if you have applied for a NASA Grant. NASA Grant recipients MUST submit a Chairman's Award entry. So if you are awarded a NASA Grant then you need to be prepared for a Chairman's Award submission. NASA Grant winners are announced by region on November 12 at http://robotics.nasa.gov
And just a reminder that the calls are recorded and retained online for a short period of time, http://www.usfirst.org/community/frc....aspx?id=10124 and the outlines are posted there as well! Last edited by KathieK : 10-11-2008 at 18:52. |
