dvd question

when i put the file on the dvd should it be in a max file or a video file?

if video what type of file should it be.

You have to use a video file.

You also need to use software to create the DVD so that it automatically plays in any DVD player. Otherwise, you'll just be stuck with a file on a disk.

There's more than just a video file on a disc. The DVD has to have structure, like AndyB said, use a DVD authoring software to do this.
