Trouble updating firmware

When we attempt to update firmware, after it says "Hold select" and we hold select, it flashes a screen for a split second then goes back to the main screen.

Re: Trouble updating firmware

I think that happens when the DS cannot find the firmware update file "dsud_pkg.bin" on the top level of the memory stick.
Can be because the file name is incorrect or because it has trouble with the model memory stick.
Check your file name (no hidden extensions), then try a different model stick.

I saw this the other day with someone else's driver station. The problem went away when I substituted my USB stick for his. Either it was the stick itself, or the fact that while his stick was full of other stuff, mine had only the firmware.

Re: Trouble updating firmware

Turns out the student had file extensions turned off, so they named it filename.bin.bin, rather than filename.bin.

Thanks for the fast responses though.

We had the same problem but we just switched drives and it worked.
