How many teams had router problems?
We were just wondering how many teams had problems with communications do to the routers. We bricked both of our routers before and were wondering why that happened. Fortunatly we were able to unbrick the routers.

Re: How many teams had router problems?
Please detail the symptoms. What do you mean "Bricked" your router?
I am guessing that you mean that your router was inoperable to the point where you had to reset it to factory configuration? We've had problems with the router, but mostly attributable to operator error, and never to the point where the router was "Bricked". |

Re: How many teams had router problems?
The router wont comunicate with the other router. At first the router works ( we were programming at the time), then it doesnt. We tried resetting, turning off and on, and even connecting directly to a computer to anaylize the problem. The router normally has a light that shows that it is transmitting wirelessly. That light was off. The only thing that did work was getting it back to factory setting.

Re: How many teams had router problems?
Something you need to clarify is which device is malfunctioning. The device on the robot is the game adapter, and the drivers station device is the router/access point.
Which device(s) did you reset? |

Re: How many teams had router problems?
well the first time was the driver station router(which we fixed). Today our game adapter stopped working. We still haven't done a factory reset on the gaming adapter but that is what we are planning to do.

Re: How many teams had router problems?
I found reports that this router has issues when running in dual-band N mode. Make sure you've disabled N on the 2.4ghz band.
Its also possible you're getting interference from other nearby networks. You should identify any other networks, and make sure you're running on another channel. If you still have issues you may want to contact FIRST about getting a replacement. |

Thanks, that might help us save some time in trying to get it back to work.

We're having problems with our router too. We can't access it through the initial IP address, could someone help us?

Re: How many teams had router problems?
You can use the reset button on the back in case the router IP has been set incorrectly.
While the router is on use a paperclip to press and hold the reset on the back of the unit. When the router power button begins to flash you can release the reset. Then set your PC to use DHCP, and try browsing to 192.168.1.1 again. |
