Already made Motors

I checked a link on the FIRST website and found a site that has numerous files of already completed motor files but they are not in a SolidWorks file which is what my team uses for CAD work

So i was wondering if there was a way to convert these files to be useable by SolidWorks or something similar to that

What file format is it?

I import STEP and Parasolid files into SW all the time and they work fine. I haven't used IGES as much, but when I have it's worked as well.

Re: Already made Motors

If you can get the files in a translatable 3D solid modeling format, such as "STEP" (with a suffix of .stp) or IGES (suffix of .igs), then SolidWorks (and other 3D CAD programs) can load those files.

Good luck.

Andy

I have to assume you mean this site if it was a link off of FIRST's website:
http://www.firstcadlibrary.com/

If so, Ed Sparks who runs that site, typically makes them in Autodesk Inventor, & has other formats that SW can use. (See Cory & Andy's post above for importing certain file types into SW).

Also, & maybe easier to use now & in the future, SW has recently partnered with FIRST & Ed to include a model of (most) KOP items on their 3D Content Central website.

Many of them can be found here in native SW formats:
