XBox vs Wii vs PS3
This is the age old question, which is the better console.
Obviously it has a lot to do with personal preference. The wii is less graphical but has interactive gameplay The XBox 360 has better graphics and arguably better games with nice online stuff. The PS3 just has super graphics and other stuff like blueray' |

Re: XBox vs Wii vs PS3
I don't like to belabor this point, but please search before posting, as in this case many threads already directly ask the same question or address this same topic.
On the topic at hand, however, I'm preferential to the 360 and wii. Fallout 3 and fable 2 have kept me nice and busy (when not in the build season, of course...) Last edited by tim_reiher : 21-01-2009 at 22:26. |

Re: XBox vs Wii vs PS3
XBOX 360 (awesome online play)
PS3 (Some titles I like that are just for it, and a blu ray player never hurts) Wii (I only like Wii Sports on it, so not worth my money to buy) (MHO) |

Re: XBox vs Wii vs PS3
I can only attack this from a fixit standpoint since I don't really play. All have really good looking games but the Xbox has a series of known problems.
I can tell you that heat is an issue so there are two fans which draw cooling air and lots of dust (no internal filters) into the box. The DVD drive runs constantly as well and they fail. What is most insidious is that the drive ROM is coded to the motherboard so that you can't replace the drive without Microsoft being involved in the repair. However, if you get a drive of the same manufacturer, then you can swap drive electronics boards from old to new so that the ROM stays with the machine. The one I just finished repairing had seized the drive motor. A clean and lube did not bring it back. I found several places to buy drives on the internet and was able to replace the drive for $44 including shipping, and several hours work taking the machine apart and replacing the drive. This is not for do it yourselfers. The case can only be opened with a thin object or a purchased tool and Microsoft has put a tamperproof sticker inside to void the warranty if opened. |

Re: XBox vs Wii vs PS3
Based on personal preference, I prefer the 360. I've never had any technical problems with it, the online is fantastic and all the games I wish to play are on it.

Re: XBox vs Wii vs PS3
Ok, my breakdown. They are all lousy. The PS3 over-obsesses about graphics and sacrifices gameplay(If I wanted great graphics with no gameplay, I would have watched a movie). Xbox has great sports games, first person shooters, and not much else(Am I the only one that doesn't like sports games or FPS?). The Wii tried to branch out and ignored the target audience (Some of us play video games so they can have fun while being lazy).
Sorry for the tough critique, I just really hate how they all "improved". To be honest, I have a Wii. I pretty much just play the games that require little or no motion. Yes, I know I'm lazy. I'm used to it. |

Re: XBox vs Wii vs PS3
I think it depends on your situation (personally I like my PS1 and regular xbox).
