recipes and snack ideas

alright... so... as a member of the programming team, i just have to say we've been stuck at school from 2 when school ends till about 6 or seven. PLUS on the weekends we're here in this stuffy little classroom for practically the whole day!

so far, i have made snickerdoodles and muffins... the teacher has bought granola bars and bananas...
but... we're getting alittle tired of them... so... other than cookies and muffins and bananas and such... what are some good ideas and other stuff to eat that hopefully don't cost too much?

Re: recipes and snack ideas

I do not know about the cost but these bars are good...

3 packages of peanut butter cookie dough (rolls)
2 bags of mini marshmallows
1 bag of chocolate chips
1 bag of mini M&Ms

(makes 3 batches there will be leftovers of marchmallows, and chocolate ingredients)

1. spread out package of cookie dough in 9x13 pan
2. bake for about 7 min to the temperature the package says
3. take and immediatly cover w/ marshmallows
4. put back in over and cook for about 5 more min(until marshmallows start browning)
5. take out and drizzle melted chocolate chips
6. sprinkle M&Ms
7. then let them cool (If you want to put it in the freezer, make sure that you cut them into bars before you put it in)
8. Then Steal about 20 for your self when done
9. take the rest of the food to your team and put it in the center of the room and see what happens

Re: recipes and snack ideas

Our team eats really well during build season, because the parents bring in meals to us. Here are some ideas based on what has been brought in of the snack genre...

It might be a slight splurge, but I recommend a box of clementines (seedless tangerines). Tasty, easy to peel, and good for you!

Out team favorite is Chex mix, either store bought or homemade. And the white chocolate version is wonderful! It's called "white trash" and there are many recipes on the internet.

Any chance of real food? Can you bring in a crock pot and set it up to keep things hot for a period of time? Then you can do little meatballs and rolls, or an easy soup or chili. They would hold you over for a few hours but still not prevent you from eating your dinners at home.
