Aidan: "You silly inspectors, how did Iridium, team 77, and Cosmos, team 2251, even make it onto the field without supporting the entire length of their bumpers with their frames!"

(Also, it wasn't a NASA satellite. It was a private telecommunications satellite. These particular satellites occasionally reflect sunlight, which we see as temporary brilliant points of light (look at Iridium flares). It's really quite something.

That said, I doubt we'll see any Lunacy robots moving at quite orbital velocity.
