Lasers

We were wondering if we could put a laser on our robot so we could see where we were aiming our system for are ball launcher? It would be pointed at the floor and not at people's eyes. Does it say anywhere in the rules that we can't use it.

Thanks

Rule <R08-D> says that no lasers at all are allowed on the robots.

The GDC, however, has permitted one exception--a laser optical mouse used for position sensing, provided that it is neither exposed nor posing a hazard to eyes. http://forums.usfirst.org/showthread...ighlight=laser

However, for your use, there is a very definite possibility that someone's eye gets hit. Also, the Q&A is used more to interpret the manual than to make it, so I would go with the manual on this one. Obey <R08-D> and don't use a laser.
