Team #2007's new website
Hey everyone,
I was hoping I might get some feedback on the website I put together for my team. Please check it out at: http://duluthrobotics.org/ It's powered on the backend by a little CMS called sNews. I've got mixed feelings about sNews, but I didn't have time to roll anything of my own and it gets the job done. A former team member did the graphic design in Photoshop; I sliced up the PSD and put together the markup and styles from scratch, except for Yahoo's open source reset, base, and font styles, served through Google's CDN. I used jQuery, also served through Google's CDN, to elegantly comply with the website award's (irritating) requirement that all external links open in a new window; I also used Thickbox, built on jQuery, to display photos in modal windows. Any questions or comments are appreciated, thanks Brian |

Re: Team #2007's new website
You have some odd spacing with your h3 headers. Take a look:
http://duluthrobotics.org/special-thanks/ http://duluthrobotics.org/useful-resources/ For your the section headers of the side bar, I would consider adding some more vertical spacing because it looks a little squished compared to the spacing used by the rest of the layout. Lastly, you should make your logo (bannertext.png) link to the front page of your website. I often forget this myself, this is a common feature among websites and aids navigation. |

Re: Team #2007's new website
One thing I would do without a thought is making the top banner "text" (text and logo) to be contrasting. White would work well enough (outline the text in 3px black).
Also, your menu needs to be reconsidered. Make sure you don't stop the underlining if I have visited a certain page. It should be with a.activated tag in CSS. Last edited by keehun : 28-02-2009 at 18:08. |

Re: Team #2007's new website
It very good my only suggestion would be to move the content sidebar on the far right to the left side of the text and then just leave the photo gallery on the right.
