So I was reaing through a really great thread talking about some really great people.

Going through this thread, Jane mentions different ways of finding words of wisdom from ispirational FIRST people, and something clicked. I am a huge fan of the two "Behind the Design" books that showcase some of the Top Robot Ideas from their seasons. However, that is not what FIRST is really about (great designs are part of FIRST, but FIRST is so much more).

Anybody interested in writing a book "They Got It". This would be a book covering Chairman's and WFFA essays and stories about these teams and people. It really doesn't even have to be a "book" as much as a good collection. Personally I would love to see a book come out, but I think things in print that I can lug around and stick on my shelf.

I am more of an idea guy than a writer, so I am looking for someone that wants to do something special to take this on. Maybe a whole team of someone's.

Wow, a $50 book. That's a lot, though I've spent that many times over on school books. I hope some proceeds go to the teams or a good cause or something.

I bought this book and then I gave it away, quick as you please. Silly me. I did have a chance to browse through it beforehand and it was wonderful.

I understand what IKE is talking about and this published book does address that. But the story goes on. More teams are added each year, more WFFAs and WFAs, more Chairman's winners, more team struggles that are overcome, more successes that are met on the field and off. It's an on-going story and is there for the telling in so many wonderful ways.

Another idea could be a daily quote or inspirational calendar or calendar book. Has anyone done one of those yet? Sometimes just the right quote makes for an awesome day or a great recovery.

Nice thread title, IKE, it caught my attention.

PS it was worth the $50 as a read and as a gift. Well worth it and I met a very tall man with a tall hat while standing in line waiting to purchase it, Jack Kentfield. I have never been quite the same.

I'm gonna sound really stupid, but, what is the difference between a WFFA and a WFA. I know one is Woodie Flowers Award.

WFFA is the Woodie Flowers Finalist Award, which is the one awarded at a regional. WFA is the Woodie Flowers Award, which is awarded to a WFFA winner at Championships.

I witnessed a really cool thing this weekend. All the WFFA nominees at Kettering were asked to take the field for a round of applause.
