FIRST Championships - PTC Workshops

Hello Teams,

As the excitement of championship approaches, PTC wants to congratulate all teams on a great season thus far! As you may know, PTC is now a Crown Level Supplier to the FRC program and Official CAD and Collaboration Supplier to FTC and this year we offered the following software tools to all teams:
  • Windchill for team collaboration (hosted by PTC)
  • Pro/ENGINEER for creating CAD models of your robot
  • Mathcad for documenting your engineering calculations
  • ProductView for visualizing your robot design

We are preparing for championship now and wanted to invite and encourage you to drop by our booth and attend our workshops in Atlanta! We will have a booth located in the PIT area and it is designed to be an oasis for resting and snacks. Our booth will host an internet café so that you can check emails and notify friends of your success. We will be offering t-shirts to the first 2500 people that register at the booth and also have buttons that you can add to your collection!

The PTC workshops are a great way to learn more about our products and how your team can use them in upcoming seasons! Here is a listing of the workshops with their times:

Improve Team Collaboration with PTC Windchill (Room C204)

Wed, April 15: 6:30pm - 7:15pm
Thurs, April 16: 1:00pm – 1:45 pm

This workshop will provide FIRST participants with an overview of PTC’s team collaboration technology, Windchill ProjectLink. We will showcase how Windchill can help teams work more effectively while also providing a secure central repository for ALL documents, models and communication! We will discuss how teams can get started with Windchill, training opportunities and real use cases.

Quickly Model Robot Designs with PTC Pro/ENGINEER (Room C204)

Wed, April 15: 7:30pm – 8:15pm
Thurs, April 16: 8:00am – 8:45am

This workshop will give FIRST participants an overview of our industry leading 3D CAD software, Pro/ENGINEER. We will highlight the capabilities of the software specifically for FIRST teams and also review the various training options/opportunities. Included will be demonstrations and real use cases of how teams can quickly bring their robot from concept to design and fully analyze their robots before building.

We look forward to seeing you in Atlanta! Good Luck!

Re: FIRST Championships - PTC Workshops

The workshops sound like a fantastic addition to an already busy weekend of fun filled activities!
I'm particularly interested in attending the intro to Pro/E on Wednesday night.
Is there a place to sign up in advance, & are these workshops free, or are they part of the FIRST Workshops which traditionally have a fee for them?

Let me know as I'll more than likely want to stop by Wednesday evening after signing in with the check-in desk for volunteering at the Championship Event!

Thanks & see everyone in Atlanta!
